Chelsea could Offer $6.7million-a-year to Sign Ross Barkley

Chelsea started their PL campaign with a shocking defeat against Burnley at Stamford Bridge but bounced back in style to beat Tottenham Hotspur away from home.

Conte has already signed more than a few quality players this summer but he has also lost Matic and it will not come as any surprise if Costa leaves the club as well.

In such a scenario, the Italian boss is still looking to strengthen his team before the transfer deadline ends and the Blues are linked with England international Ross Barkley.

According to Telegraph, Chelsea are in the battle with Spurs to sign the Everton star, they can better any offer from the North Londoners and could pay $128,000-a-week ($6.7million-a-year) to secure the signing of Barkley.

Ross’ current deal with the Toffees will expire in less than 12 months and the Merseysiders have already signed his replacement by luring Gylfi Sigurddsson from Swansea.

Last season, Barkley was a key member of the team under the management of Ronald Koeman. He scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists in 36 league appearances.

At the moment, the 23-year-old versatile star is injured and he needs regular first team football this season to earn a place in the national side for the next year’s World Cup.

In your opinion, should Chelsea sign Ross Barkley?
