Manchester United could only earn a single point against Everton last night and now, arch rivals Liverpool are firm favorites to finish in the top four.
The Red Devils will probably have to win the Europa League to play in the next season’s Champions League. After spending heavily last summer, Mourinho’s squad has not performed at the optimum level and he needs to further reinforce the team.
Recenty, we covered a report (via MEN) claiming Atletico Madrid goalie Jan Oblak is interested in joining the Old Trafford club this summer.
However, he is not the only player who wants join Man United. According to Mirror, Celtic fullback Kieran Tierney is also keen on signing for the Red Devils despite interest from other PL clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City.
The 19-year-old starlet is a versatile talent. He is mainly a left back but can effectively play in the central defense as well. This season, Kieran has been fantastic for Celtic under the management of Brendan Rodgers.
Solid at the back and also productive in the attacking third, Mirror claim that Mourinho and his staff are very impressed and want the £10million rated ($12.5million) player at the club this summer.
In the current campaign, Tierney has so far featured in 32 games for the Scottish side, scored one goal and provided no fewer than 12 assists.
United have players like Darmian, Shaw, Rojo and Blind who can play in the left back position. However, the likes of Matteo and Luke have mainly warmed the bench and must be sold this summer. If the duo depart, Kieran should be lured to strengthen the position.
