Chelsea have been pretty much inactive in the winter window but they are prepared to seal two new signings before the transfer deadline tonight.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea are closing in on a late deal to sign Bosnian international and Schalke star Sead Kolasinac. The Blues also want to sign Craig Gordon but Celtic do not want to sell him.
Conte needs depth in the wing-back positions and someone like Kolasinac perfectly fits the bill. Last month, even Liverpool were linked with Sead (via Mirror via Bild)
The 23-year-old star is a versatile talent, who can play anywhere on the left hand side of the field. Moreover, he can also be utilized in the central defense and as a defensive midfielder as well.
As per the provided Daily Mail link, Sead’s contract will expire at the end of the current campaign and Chelsea are ready to pay more than Juventus (who have offered 5 million pounds) to secure his signing before the January window closes. Moreover, the report also states that Ivanovic is close to leaving Stamford Bridge.
The former Hoffenheim youth player has featured in 18 games for Schalke this season and directly contributed in no fewer than 8 goals (2 goals and 6 assists). So far, he has played 22 games for the senior national side.
