10 Starts, 8 Goals/Assists – Liverpool Ready to Agree Versatile Star Signing

Jurgen Klopp DortmundJurgen Klopp is mainly using James Milner, a natural central/attacking midfielder, as his first choice Liverpool left back and Alberto Moreno, a natural defender, as his second choice left back.

The former Manchester City star has done well in an unusual role so far but Liverpool need a permanent solution for the position. The Reds need someone who is solid at the back and also productive in the attack to fit into Klopp’s system.

One such player in the limelight is Schalke defender Sead Kolasinac. The 23-year-old star has been in top form for the Bundesliga club this season.

Sead has featured in 13 games (10 starts) and directly contributed in no fewer than 8 goals (2 goals and 6 assists).

Liverpool were linked (via the Sun) with the Bosnian defender last month as well and now according to reports (Mirror via Bild), the Reds are looking to agree his signing on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

Not to forget, Liverpool lured Joel Matip on a bosman from Schalke and the German club would not like to lose another ey player for nothing.

Kolasinac is a versatile talent who can effectively play on the left wing and as a defensive midfielder as well.

In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Sead Kolasinac?

  1. RED PHIL says:

Common sense dictates that Milner isn’t a full-back and is knocking on a bit and Moreno isn’t up to the job so, yes, we need a new and top notch LB. Whether this guy is the man for the job, who knows, but with few English ones seemingly available we might need to go foreign yet again.
Hurts me to say it but if Luke Shaw is struggling to impress JM he might be a potential solution IF those idiots would sell to us, which is unlikely. Sorry if I’ve upset anybody making such a suggestion but he is a good player, when injury free.
Still need to concentrate our fiscal resources on, in my opinion, another CB, a better keeper who can catch a high ball, a defensive midfielder and a mobile and team-playing striker. £200m should cover it!
Not convinced that Karius is any better than Mignolet and he looks as dodgy on high balls as Mignolet does. When opponents (Bournemouth) admit they deliberately targeted his apparent uncertainty to the high ball then that says it all for me!
