Van Gaal's Update – Man United's Probable XI vs Spurs

Louis Van GaalManchester United’s pre-season tour ended with a defeat against Paris Saint-Germain last night in the International Champions Cup.
Overall, the Red Devils had a decent tour where Van Gaal got the chance to gel his new players well before the start of new season.
The English Premier League will kick off in just over a week and Manchester United will face Tottenham in the opening game.
Louis van Gaal is expected to play with the formation mostly used in the pre-season (4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1) and is likely going to select the players who impressed on the tour. The Dutch manager has specifically mentioned Shaw, Blind and Darmian who are expected to start against Tottenham.

“I think I shall play [Luke] Shaw with [Matteo] Darmian, and with Daley Blind. The right central position I have to consider. I am very pleased with the performance of Matteo Darmian, and you can see he can play on the right and left.”

Jones has mainly started as right center back in pre-season and may also start with the mentioned trio in defense vs Spurs. De Gea’s future is in doubt but the Spanish goalie must start if he is still there when the new season kicks off.
Carrick has been a regular starter on the tour, expect the England international to partner Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin in midfield.
Here is how Man United may line up vs Spurs.
