Manchester United are looking to secure a top midfielder this summer and mainly Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin has been in the limelight.
The French international had another brilliant season with Saints last time around and deserves Champions League football.
The Red Devils made an official offer to hire services of the versatile midfield star but Southampton rejected the bid. As confirmed by Southampton manager Ronald Koeman, United have not returned with an improved offer yet.
Questions might be raised whether United are still interested in signing the Les Bleus star or not.
Moreover, there are now reports claiming that Man United are set to finally sign Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger and the £10million move is considered imminent.
The German international who has been a key member for club and country since the past decade is currently in the last year of his contract with the Budnesliga giants but there is no news of a new contract yet.
Schweni is still one of the best midfielders in the world who will be a brilliant addition to United’s starting XI. However, at the age of 30, is he really the long term replacement of Carrick, highly unlikely.

It will good of this rumour comes true, Basti has so much to offer, specially there is a lot of young blood at present with Man Utd. It will be an inspiration and learning process for many to stand shoulder to shoulder if they play together. It could be a quick learning for the youngsters who can take off to greater heights for Man utd and make the club a true force in Europe and around the world reckon with as it was in the beginning.
I think morgan is better,due to age
Both would be the best option but if it has to be either I would go for the long term option of Schneiderlin. I am a big fan of Schwinesteiger but at 30 he has less years to offer especially in the more robust premier league
