Manchester United CLOSE in on $16m Star Signing

Manchester United are in for defenders this summer, specifically center backs and more than a few have been linked.
The Red Devils are favorites to qualify for Champions League next season and top players are always interested in playing at the Old Trafford.
The likes of Hummels and Otamendi have been named and now Danish star Simon Kjaer is in the lime light as far as United are concerned.
According to reports, Manchester United are closing in to sign Kjaer from French club Lille with a $16m offer.
It will be a crime to say that Kjaer is anyway better than Hummels and Otamendi but Van Gaal may as well look to sign more than just one central defender and Simon will be decent signing.
The Denmark star has vast experience having played for 5 clubs and also has 48 senior caps for the national side as well.
Adding to that, Kjaer is looking for a move as quoted in the provided Express link:

“I’ll only leave if a top club wants me, this season or next.”
“Otherwise there is no reason to leave a club of Lille’s means.”

Surely, United are a top top club and if Van Gaal is serious in securing the 26 year old star’s signature then that can work.
Moving to Old Trafford will be big step up in his career and an opportunity he should not turn down.
