As far as the league positions and points are concerned, Spurs and Everton supporters will be more than delighted for now.
However, despite the fact that Spurs have qualified for the quarter finals of league cup and sit 4th in PL, they have not really been impressive.
On the other hand, Everton have done wonders since the departure of David Moyes and arrival of Roberto Martinez. They clearly look a different side.
Mainly used to play direct football but as expected from Martinez, the passing has largely improved and the style has changed.
Villas Boas has not been able to fit the new signings into the system as yet and there is no denying the fact that his side has been lucky on more than few occasions to win.
Spurs are finding it hard to score goals from open play despite spending over 100m on new players.
Fortunately a harsh penalty gifted them three points against Hull in the league at White Hart Lane and once again Spurs needed penalties to see off the challenge of newcomers at home last night.
Paulinho has probably been their most impressive signing. However other top names like Lamela, Eriksen and Soldado are still trying to find their feet.
Contrary to that, Everton’s new stars have started in top form. Lukaku, Barry, McCarthy have all been fantastic.
Taking the recent form into consideration and the fact that the merseysiders will be playing at home, Everton are favorites to beat Tottenham.

You might be right,look at the problems City had when they first spent that kind of money ,there is a lot of ego’s there who have basically been “thrown together” instead of “grown together” I think Everton will win also !
Hmm, Hull parked the bus and are anti-football, thus deserved to lose both games, while Everton are at home and should attack. However both Moyes and Martinez love to park the bus against Spurs. In any event, whether Everton defend or attack, a 2-0 outcome is unlikely. It will either be a Spurs win or draw if Everton attack or a draw or lucky Everton win if they defend.
I believe Martinez system are too good and players too are good … Everton win 4-1 lazy spurs
