After sources have confirmed that Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is angry and confused at the way he has been treated by the club management, his relation with Red Devils has reached boiling point and the future is in doubt.
Earlier today, reports suggested that Chelsea have made an official bid for the England international, however Manchester United has rejected the offer as they want to hold onto their star player no matter what. It is rumored that Chelsea offered a player plus cash deal for Wayne Rooney.
Luiz and Mata are the reported players that were offered (to choose one) along with 10 million pounds to hire the services of Manchester United striker. The total bid amount is considered to be 22 million pounds which is baffling and makes little sense.
If sanity prevails, Rooney + 10m for Mata makes sense and not the other way around.
Both Mata and Luiz were signed by Blues for over 20 million and they cannot possibly be sold for less than that when top clubs are ready to pay hefty sums for them. According to the same Daily Mail, Barcelona made a 30 million bid for Luiz and now suddenly he is that under rated.
Nevertheless, coming back to Spanish maestro Mata, the former Valencia star was Chelsea’s player of the season in the last campaign whereas Wayne Rooney was far from his best for Manchester United.
Mata at 25, is reaching the peak of his career, playing the best football. On the other hand, Rooney will turn 28 in October and with form declining his market value cannot be touching the sky.
Juan Mata was part of the team of the season and was one of the six nominations for the player of the year prize that was eventually won by Tottenham’s Gareth Bale. Chelsea are well aware of the importance of their best player and will like to keep him at the club.
For worst, even if Mourinho does ever think of selling Mata, he will not go for cheap, surely never as cheap as the amount reported in the media as he is a top quality player.
