Rooney to choose between Chelsea and Arsenal

Rooney to choose between Chelsea and ArsenalSpeculations over the future of Wayne Rooney continues and it looks more likely that the England international will leave Manchester United this summer for a new challenge. As far as things are going on now, Rooney has to choose between Chelsea and Arsenal.

The tensions between David Moyes and Rooney are inevitable and for now there seems no solution but departure of former Everton star. Both London clubs are looking to sign Wayne who is one of United’s most important players.

Arsene Wenger will have funds to play with this time around and knows that Arsenal badly missed a top quality striker last season. Rooney scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in the league last season and his flexibility is one aspect that any team will benefit from.

Gazidis recently claimed that Arsenal are financially very strong and are capable of signing big names this summer.

It is understandable that Arsenal can pay the asking price for Rooney, but the main obstacle in this scenario will be his 250k a week salary. The pay structure of gunners does not really support that high a sum and that can possibly create a divide between the squad.

On the other hand, Chelsea can afford to pay these wages. Mourinho has been a long term admirer of Wayne Rooney and once again the Portuguese praised the England international without giving any clear indication of moving for the player.

The Blues are also searching for a worldclass forward. The last time a striker scored 20 league goals for them was way back in 2010, Didier Drogba scored 29 in that title winning campaign for Chelsea.

French giants, PSG have also shown keen interest in hiring the services of Rooney but the player may as well want to stay in his homeland. Chelsea for now are reportedly after Napoli’s top scorer Edinson Cavani as well but are surely monitoring Rooney’s situation.

For now, Chelsea seem a better option for Rooney as they have a better squad as compared to Arsenal and the arrival of Jose Mourinho has amplified the belief of winning the premier league title next season. Plus, he will be financially satisfied as well.

Whether or not Arsene Wenger can afford Rooney and will reinforce squad heavily to improve quality to compete for title next season, only time will tell.

Buying rooney ismuch better than buying say higuain lewandowski benteke for example as in rooney you buy 3 players in one. Firstly you are buying undoubtedly the best english no.9 currently out there. Secondly you are buying a player that can play as a no.10 or all across the attacking midfield. Thirdly you are buying a player that will without doubt sell you merchandise like no other. Add into all that he is homegrown he is coming from one of your main rivals which will send out a serious message to other clubs and players. He is a winner and one day he will probably drop back into the midfield and become a bulldog in the mould of paul scholes. Whilst rooney isn’t young we could still get 8-9 years out of him. He earms leass money that arshavin squillaci and denilson combined now please tell me who would you rather have those 3 or rooney? If we could spend our cash on only 3players this summer our first target should be rooney 2nd fellaini and 3rd fabregas. We could always pick up cheap centre backs right backs and keepers and I am sure there are a number of young wingers lurking around that could well develop into a gem. Ryo campbell gnabry jeffrey are just 4 that come to mind and we already own them. In goal we could easily snap up schwarzer on a free and cesar in part ex with fabianski or mannone is surely a deal. Hate to say this but gallas on a free is not too shabby as a back up defender for a year he once formed a reasonable partnership with tv5. And I am sure that eric lijah from villa would make a decent enough squad player as well if numbers are required.

    Sagna mertesacker koscielny gibbs
    Wilshire fellaini
    Walcott fabregas ca!zorla!

    Jenkinson gallas vermaelen monreal
    Arteta ramsey
    Chamberlain rosicky podolski

    Lihaj djourou miquel santos
    Coquelin frimpong
    Campbell diaby gervinho

Plus all the other under 21s

Going to chelsea seems more safe as wenger and the board cant be trusted to fulfil the ambition of players and wishes of fans for the past 8 seasons. Even Rvp left becos of wenger’s failure to fulfil.

It will be pretty good if we can have him cos am tired of all this unfulfilled promise from the Board and Asene.
