Chelsea and City Target to Stay Put

Chelsea and City Target to Stay PutChelsea and Manchester City target Edinson Cavani is likely to stay at Napoli next season according to his agent. The Uruguayan is currently the top scorer of Serie A having scored 22 goals in 27 appearances and has drawn interest from top European clubs over the past few years.
Cavani is one of the hottest prospects in the world right now, arguably one of the best forwards around and by all means expensive as well. For now, Napoli are second in the Italian league, 9 points behind leaders and champions Juventus with only six games remaining.
They are favorites to feature in next year’s champions league as only disastrous form from now onwards can drop them out of top 4.
Cavani’s agent claims that his client has never expressed any serious desire of leaving the Italian side for another team and will like to win titles with Napoli. Agent stated:

“Edinson has never expressed a desire to get away from Napoli. Cavani, however, is an ambitious type.”
“He would like to win with his current club at the moment but wants to know what the conditions would be to do it.”

Cavani is a favorite at San Paolo, fans love him and his love for Napoli is inevitable. Surely the prolific striker will like to stay but his performances deserve a pay rise as well.
City and Chelsea can offer him those tempting wages so as other suitors but his price tag is enormous to say the least. A sum of more than 50 million is a staggering price for a player and may as well put off the clubs chasing his signature.
If Napoli can provide Cavani with the deserved pay rise and convince him with effective plans for the future then the Uruguayan is likely to stay. If not, even then there is little chance that Napoli will decrease there asking price for their star man who scores for fun in one of the most toughest league in the world.
Cavani has scored 30+ goals in every season for the Italian side and they are never going to let him go for cheap. Whether or not Chelsea and City will break the bank for him, only time will tell.
