Jose Mourinho delivers fitness update on Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed the return of Anthony Martial ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League tie versus Sevilla. Paul Pogba, however, remains doubtful after having only participated during the final stages of the training session held on Monday morning.
In a report covered by United’s official website, the Portuguese tactician confirmed the good news regarding the fitness of Martial, who had missed recent outings versus Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
The France international had been recuperating from a minor thigh problem, and his arrival is likely to provide selection headaches for the manager, given Marcus Rashford bagged a match-winning brace against Liverpool during his absence.
Meanwhile, compatriot Pogba had suffered a deep gash on his leg after a challenge from Scott McTominay in training prior to the Reds game, and it appears that he has not fully recovered from the incident with Mourinho unsure over his participation.
Aside from this, United are pretty much with the same players from the previous game, with Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera in the treatment room, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s involvement has not been mentioned, despite the Swede featuring in an open-training session on Monday.
Manchester United settled for a 0-0 draw against Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 first-leg last month, and their performance was rather underwhelming with the Andalusian outfit exhibiting their dominance in their home turf.
The La Liga side were still wasteful with their finishing for the most of the game, barring one bullet header from Luis Muriel from four yards which required the world-class reflexes from David de Gea to keep United level.
At Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho’s side should have the encouragement to attack from the off, but they still need to be wary of conceding an away goal, which could be detrimental, as they would then have to score at least twice, to stay in the competition.
