Manchester United are set to beat Manchester City to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez if reports in the media are anything to go by.
The Chilean playmaker, whose contract will expire in the summer, was not selected in the game against Bournemouth yesterday and Arsene Wenger confirmed that his future will be resolved very soon.
According to the Guardian, Manchester are now close to agreeing the signing of the former Barcelona star. City were considered favorites not so long ago but they are not willing to raise their offer.
According to Express, the South American superstar is set to complete his move to Old Trafford in the next two days and he’d earn around £350,000-a-week ($480,000-a-week).
The Sky Blues are not willing to pay more than 20 million pounds but United have matched Arsenal’s asking price of 35 million pounds ($48million) to hire the services of Alexis (Express).
Sanchez was Arsenal’s best player in the last campaign but the North Londoners failed to agree a new deal with him. His arrival at Manchester United will largely amplify the quality of Mourinho’s team, who are 15 points behind the Citizens at the moment.
Arsenal lost against the Cherries yesterday and they must replace Alexis by signing a top quality player if they are to have any chance of finishing in the top four.
