Liverpool will Move to Sign Van Dijk if this Happens

Jurgen Klopp DortmundLiverpool desperately needed to sign a strong central defender in the summer transfer window but Klopp failed to lure one.
The Reds have a shaky defense and the German boss must fix that in the winter transfer window by signing a top quality star if they are to challenge for big prizes in the second half of the campaign.
The Merseysiders were mainly linked with Virgil van Dijk last summer but the Saints opted to hold on to their prized asset.

According to Liverpool Echo, if Coutinho leaves the Anfield club in January then Liverpool will need to move to sign Van Dijk and Keita immediately.
James Pearce have claimed that Liverpool will move to sign the Dutch center half if Southampton soften their stance this time around.
The 26-year-old ex Celtic star is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, who will surely reinforce Klopp’s back line if he moves to Anfield. His current contract with the Saints will expire in 2022 and he is rated (Daily Mirror) around 60 million pounds ($80million).
In my opinion, signing of Van Dijk or any other top center half should not be dependent on the departure of Coutinho. The Reds must strengthen their defense next month no matter what happens.

  1. RED PHIL says:

If Coutinho stays or goes we can’t lose. He is very good and a major part of our attack but, for the money we’d get we could replace him with Draxxler AND get van Dijk! Would be sad to see him go but if he wants to go then there are alternatives that would bolster the team at the back and the front . . . and that is desperately needed. We win if he stays, we can win if he goes but the defence MUST be overhauled!
