Arsenal signed French striker Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window. They could be signing another striker in the winter window.
As per a source close to Schalke, Arsenal are ready to sign Austrian center forward Guido Burgstaller in a player plus cash deal that will see Olivier Giroud join the German club.
This season, Giroud has not even started once in the Premier League and he needs to play regular first team football to guarantee a place in the French national side for the World Cup.
France assistant manager Guy Stephan (Star) has lately claimed that the former Montpellier striker needs more game time or he could miss out on a place in the Les Bleus squad.
The source has claimed that Schalke like the quality and experience of the Giorud, 31, and would like to settle a fee for Burgstaller once the winter window opens next month.
Guido, 28, has been in good form for Schalke. In the current campaign, he has directly contributed in 10 goals (7 goals and 3 assists) in 15 appearances. He joined the Bundesliga side in the last winter transfer window and scored 12 goals in 22 starts last season.
In your opinion, is Burgstaller good enough to replace Giroud?
