Liverpool need quality signings in the winter transfer window if they are to improve for the second half of the campaign but more importantly, Klopp must hold on to the key stars present in the current squad.
As far as the latest transfer news is concerned, once again Philippe Coutinho is heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
According to Don Balon, the Brazilian international is Barca’s number 1 transfer target for the January transfer window and the Reds are demanding a fee of 150 million euros for their prized asset.
The Spanish source have mentioned that the Catalan giants want to reduce the above mentioned figure by offering a player in the deal and the star that has been offered to Liverpool is Portuguese international Andre Gomes.
The 24-year-old Seleccao star joined Barca after helping Portugal win the European Championships last year. Gomes is a versatile talent who can play anywhere in the midfield and also in the attack if needed.
In the last campaign, he could only start 17 league games because Enrique mainly preferred the likes of Rakitic, Iniesta and Busquets in his midfield. Things have not changed under Valverde as well. This season, he has made 11 appearances but only started 4 times.
As per the provided Don Balon link, other players that could be included in the deal to sign Coutinho are Rafinha, Turan and Vidal. At the moment, only Gomes, who has a release clause (FCB) of 100 million euros ($116million), has been put on the table but Liverpool do not seem very happy with the idea of signing him.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sell Coutinho and sign Gomes?
