Liverpool have been trying to agree a new contract with star midfielder Emre Can for quite some time but the latest reports suggest that the German international is now close to leaving the club.

In the current campaign, Can has featured in 14 games in all competitions for the Merseysiders, scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists. Not to forget, he scored a sublime goal against Maribor in the last CL contest on Wednesday night.
At the moment, Emre  is only earning around £55,000-a-week (Star) and as per the provided Mirror link, he is now demanding a huge pay package of around £160,000-a-week ($209,000-a-week). However, Liverpool are not ready to pay more than £75,000-a-week.
In such a scenario, it will not come as any surprise to see Can end his contract next summer and leave for free. Italian champions Juventus and German champions Bayern Munich are interested in hiring his services (Mirror).
