Liverpool Must Sign Van Dijk In the Winter Transfer Window

Liverpool started the Premier League campaign well by earning 7 points from their first three games. However, the Reds could only win once in September and started this month with a draw against Newcastle.
In the last 7 games in all competitions, the Merseysiders have only won once mainly because Klopp has failed to solve the defensive concerns.
In such a scenario, Liverpool must splash the cash and finally sign a top defender once the winter transfer window opens in January.
The German manager desperately needed to sign a strong center half in the summer transfer window but could not lure one. He was chasing the signature of Virgil van Dijk but the Saints did not allow him to leave.
According to reports (The Times), Van Dijk wanted to join Liverpool in the summer window and the Reds were even prepared to pay 70 million pounds for his services. As it stands, Paul Joyce of the Times has claimed that the Dutch star wants to leave in the January transfer window and in my opinion, Liverpool have to secure his signing to sort things at the back once and for all.
Failure to lure a top defender is haunting Liverpool, who have already conceded 12 goals in 7 Premier League games so far. With that shaky a back line, the fans can forget about winning the title. Virgil is one of the best defensive leaders in the Premier League, who can solve the defensive conundrum for Klopp.
Van Dijk was injured in the second half of the last campaign and after recovering, he has featured in 2 PL games for the Saints this season. His current deal with the club will expire in 2022 and he earns around $86,000-a-week (Star).

Beginning to lose patience with the manager. Alternating three failed defenders is ludicrous and shows the stupidity of only having one transfer target last summer. City’s goal difference is now twenty-odd, ours is ONE! Klopp will not get a new keeper, despite the three he has being average at best, he thinks Moreno is the best thing since sliced bread, he thinks Henderson is a defensive midfielder and, whilst Aguero, Kane, Lukaku and Co., could each get thirty goals this year we have Firmino, totally out of form and unlikely to get ten unless his form improves. Why are we the only team to think you don’t need a striker? Why are the other top teams beginning to pull away from us as their strikers keep scoring and they routinely win 4-0?
Klopp’s tactic of having fast wingers and pressing is good but why do we need to score three to have a hope of winning after nearly always conceding two?
Now of the opinion that Klopp is a one-trick pony, totally incapable of fixing the worst defence we’ve had for years and, after all, he’s only had two full years to improve it . . .
