Liverpool and Arsenal have been heavily linked with French international and Monaco star Thomas Lemar and the transfer saga has taken another twist.
Earlier in the day, we covered a report (via Le10Sport) claiming that Monaco want a huge financial proposal from Liverpool to accept the transfer of the 21-year-old star.
Today, Independent reported that Arsenal have made a club record offer for the Les Bleus playmaker that could rise to 92 million pounds, however, the player would like to join the Anfield club.
Now, as per the latest update provided by ESPN and Sky sources, Arsenal have given up hope of signing Lemar from the Ligue 1 champions because it is very unlikely that the transfer can be completed before 11 p.m tonight.
In such a scenario, ESPN have claimed that Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester City is off as well and now the Chilean international is set to stay at the Emirates.
Not sure if Arsenal fans will be furious with this update. Alexis Sanchez was their best player last season and him staying should be a boost for the North Londoners. Like Luis Suarez and Carlos Tevez, he is a star who gives his 100% when on the football field
