Tottenham have stars like Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele in the midfield department and the trio were in fantastic form in the last campaign under the management of Pochettino.
Still, the North Londoners are looking to sign another midfielder by hiring the services of Portuguese international and Sporting CP captain Adrien Silva.
Spurs have been linked with the 28-year-old Euro 2016 winner for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that Spurs are taking significant steps to sign him (A Bola).
According to A Bola, Spurs’ first offer for Adrien was worth 20 million euros and it was rejected by the Primeira Liga team. Now they have tabled another offer worth 30 million euros (cash + add-ons).
The Portuguese source have stated that Spurs have moved closer to the valuation of the player but Sporting are still demanding a figure close to 35 million euros. Not to forget, Silva has a release clause of 45 million euros ($51million) in his contract (via A Bola).
In the last campaign, Adrien featured in 27 league games for the Portuguese side, scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists.
Silva took part in the Confederations Cup for the Seleccao. Last night, in the 3rd/4th place play-off, he scored the winning goal (penalty) in extra time to beat Mexico.
