Liverpool Still Keen to Secure Signing of $68million Playmaker

Liverpool have already improved their attacking midfield by securing the signature of Mohamed Salah from Roma this summer.
The Reds do not really need another attacker but reports in Portuguese media suggest that they are still keen on securing the signing of Sporting CP playmaker Gelson Martins.
Last month, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) claiming that the Merseysiders are in negotiations to sign the Seleccao player.
Two days back, Correio da manhã reported that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal have not given up on signing the 22-year-old playmaker, who is rated around 50 million euros.

On the other hand, A Bola came up with a report and suggested that Liverpool are the club, who have made the highest offer worth 50 million euros for Martins but the Primeira Liga side want a fee of 60 million euros ($68million) which is the release clause in his contract (expires in 2022).
Capable of playing on either flank and through the center, Gelson featured in 44 games for Sporting CP last season and directly contributed in no fewer than 21 goals (7 goals and 14 assists).
Martins was part of the national team that won the bronze medal in the recently concluded Confederations Cup. A Bola claim that manager Jorge Jesus wants Martins to stay this summer. In your opinion, should Klopp splash the cash and sign him for Liverpool?

i strongly believe that we need a proven goal score and off set the cost by selling Daniel Sturridge, personally I would have love Alexander Lackazett, or if not him Aubamayang (please excuse spelling) most of last season we struggled in the last 15 to score, so we need someone who is an out and out goal poacher. of course we also need to improve our defence so a left and a central defender are a must
