Spurs have been interested in England international and Everton star Ross Barkley for a very long time and they are still looking to sign him.
The 23-year-old versatile playmaker was one of the top players for the Toffees last season under the management of Dutch boss Ronald Koeman. In 36 league games, he scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists.
However, he is expected to leave the Goodison Park this summer after failing to agree a new deal with the club. His current contract will expire next year and Everton surely do not want to lose him for nothing.
In fact, they want to sell him for a huge fee of 50 million pounds ($64million) and that price tag is the stumbling block at the moment.
According to Telegraph, Tottenham remain interested in signing the 23-year-old star but the above mentioned price tag is a problem. The British source claim that Spurs are hoping to delay things in the summer transfer window to bring the asking price down.
