Not Silva – €80million Star is Almost Sold to Manchester United

Manchester United failed to beat Southampton in their last league game and are expected to start a very weak side against Crystal Palace in the final PL game of the season on Sunday.
The Red Devils are focusing on the Europa League final knowing that beating Ajax will guarantee them a place in the next season’s Champions League.
United were able to attract top stars without CL football last summer but the three time European Champions need to play at the highest level and must qualify for the competition.
As far as the transfers are concerned, the likes of Bernardo Silva and James Rodrgiuez are heavily linked with the Old Trafford club. Earlier in the day, we covered a report (via Le Figaro via Canal +) that United are in pole position to sign the Monaco star.
However, Le10Sort have covered an exclusive report and claimed that James Rodriguez is on the verge of signing for the Old Trafford club. The French source claim that the Colombian international is almost sold to the Red Devils and now, Real Madrid have decided to splash the cash and hire the services of Bernardo Silva from the Ligue 1 side.
Manchester United were able to beat the Los Blancos in the race to sign Paul Pogba last summer and it will not be surprising if Mourinho opts to challenge the reigning CL champions to sign his compatriot, Silva.
James has been better than Bernardo this season despite limited starts. In just 20 starts, he has netted 11 goals and provided 13 assists for Real. On the other hand, Silva has scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in 49 starts for Monaco.
Last month, Spanish surce Diario Gol claimed that Florentino Perez paid Monaco €80million to sign James and the Real Madrid president wants to get the same fee from his sale as well. In your opinion, should Jose Mourinho sign Bernardo Silva or James Rodriguez?

  1. There is a slight age difference and in buying Rodrigues Madrid will now have the money selling a player they did not want to buy a player they do want in Silva without stretching their bank balance.

  2. Mark says:

Neither. We have more pressing problems in other areas. The money would definately be better spent elsewhere.

  3. Jeff B says:

Not sure how either would fit in. Priority areas have to be a quality striker (Rashford/Martial not at that level of consistency yet) quality holding midfielder, ball playing centre half and based on Valencia’s age and lack of faith in Shaw and Darmian a pair of quick and very competent full backs. Simple this management game in it ! Oh , as he’s probably available let’s take a risk on Alexis Sanchez lol

  4. like I always said, man utd boss, José Mourinho, needs to strengthen the midfield buy deploying a player who can always hold on to the ball, distribute an passes with assist, I think James Rodriguez has the pedigree than that of Bernardo Silver but come to think of it, Bernardo Silver can be a substitute to any of offensive midfield’s so mourinho should go for the duo if possible, and try as much as possible to bid for Renato Sanchez
