Not Morata – Wenger Ready to Finally Get $66million Star Signing Done for Arsenal

Arsenal took another step towards Champions League qualification after winning their third PL game on the trot yesterday. The Gunners are now a point behind Liverpool, who will collide against the Hammers away from home today.
As far as the transfers are concerned, it seems that Wenger is expected to be at Arsenal next season as he is already eyeing top stars to reinforce his team in the summer transfer window.
Yesterday, we covered a report (via The Sun) claiming that Arsene is ready to splash 50 million pounds to secure the signature of Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata. Now, once again, Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez is in the focus.
The North Londoners were seriously interested in signing the Algerian international last summer and reports even suggested that they had agreed a deal as well (via Daily Star via Le Buteur).
However, the African star eventually stayed and signed a new contract with the Foxes after leading them to the PL title.
According to an exclusive report covered by Express, Wenger is ready to finally sign the 26-year-old playmaker. The British source also claim that the French boss wants Ben Gibson to improve his back line as well.
Mahrez is arguably one of the best playmakers in the league but he has been inconsistent in the current campaign. Overall, in 46 games (all competitions), the Foxes star has scored 10 goals and provided 7 assists.
Express claim that Leicester rate him around 30 million pounds but that fee might be way too low for someone who won the PFA Player of the Year award for his fantastic performances last season.
Riyad’s current contract with the PL side will expire in 2020 and as per CIES Football Observatory, his transfer value is 60.7million euros ($66million).
