Manchester United are interested in bolstering their attacking department and more than a few quality players are linked with the Old Trafford club.
According to reports going on in the media (via Mirror) the Red Devils are looking to sign Everton’s Ross Barkley. Moreover, Mourinho wants the likes of Lukaku and Griezmann to join Zlatan Ibrahimovic at the club (via the Sun).
Now, Colombian international and Real Madrid attacker, James Rodriguez, is once again in the limelight. Earlier this month, we covered a report (via Don Balon) claiming that the South American star wants to sign for Manchester United.
If the latest reports in Spain are anything to go by then Mourinho is clear favorite to sign the 25-year-old playmaker.
According to Diario Gol, the Los Blancos are ready to offload the former Monaco star this summer and Florentino’s favorite solution is to sell him to Man United. Why? Because Perez wants to sign David De Gea from the Red Devils.
Moreover, the fact that Mourinho and James Rodriguez have the same agent would help (Jorge Mendes). The Spanish source claim that Madrid want around 80 million euros (£68m) for Rodriguez.
The World Cup 2014 Golden Boot winning star has mostly been on the bench with the reigning European champions this season but he is a quality player, who has the class to win games single-handedly.
James is currently in his peak years, can operate in any attacking position and Mourinho must splash the cash to complete his signing in the summer transfer window.
