Liverpool have been interested in signing Senegalese international and Lazio star Keita Balde for quite some time.
The Reds even sent scouts to monitor (via Corriere dello Sport) his performances in the African Cup of Nations but now, arch rivals Manchester United are ready to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
According to reports (SW via Il Tempo), Jose Mourinho is ready to launch an assault to hire the services of the African star.
Balde’s current deal with Lazio will expire at the end of the next campaign. As per the provided Sport Witness link, he has refused to extend his stay and is rated around 20 million euros ($21million).
The 22-year-old star is a versatile playmaker, who is mainly deployed on the left flank but can also play effectively as a secondary striker.
In the current campaign, Keita has featured in 25 league games for the Serie A side, scored 8 goals and also provided 3 assists. He made his senior international debut back in March 2016, since then, in 12 games, he has netted 3 goals.
Balde is a talented prospect but United need proven quality stars like Griezmann and James to improve their attack. In your opinion, should Mourinho sign Keita Balde?
