Liverpool Can Finally Agree $53million Star Signing – Klopp Wants Him at Anfield

Last night, Liverpool once again confirmed that they are a completely different and a weak side in the absence of star playmaker Sadio Mane.
The Reds need more depth in their attacking midfield to make sure that injuries do not halt their progress next season.
The Merseysiders have been linked with Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic for quite some time. Back in January, Liverpool were looking to lure him (via La Gazzetta Dello Sport).
More recently, we covered a report last month (via TMW) claiming that Klopp is ready to spend a figure of 35 million euros to hire the services of the former Borussia Dortmund attacker.
Now, according to reports in Italy (CalcioMercato), there is an update for the suitors which confirms that the Croatian international can finally be signed if a fee of 50 million euros ($53million) is met.
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder is a versatile talent, who can play on either flank and also as a secondary striker if needed. This season, Ivan has featured in 28 league games for the Serie A side, scored 9 goals and provided 6 assists.
As per the provided CalcioMercato link, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested in hiring his services. In your opinion, should Liverpool splash $53million to sign Perisic?

Sure, we need more attacking options but the shambolic defence surfaced yet again last night. No matter who we play we look capable of conceding goals every time we are attacked. Get this guy but we must get another top-notch CB, a left-back and a proper defensive midfielder so we can get rid of Lucas once and for all. Why are we so obsessed with playing people out of position in that area or returning to Lucas irrespective of how he’s failed to look good there for nearly ten years? DM is a specialist role demanding players with a particular skills set yet we keep trying attack-minded players there. And, as for our CBs . . . words fail me. Personally, I’d replace all of them with only Matip likely to remain at the club. We really are becoming a joke at the back and still need a new keeper.

Keita, Tah and Kolasinic will sort out our defensive problems. I knew from the moment he took Coutinho off we was going to draw that game. Our best form of defence is our attack, by scoring more, rather than trying to stop them scoring more. That’s been clear since early on in the season, so why he did the substitution he did is beyond me.
But beyond that, we do not need Perisic, especially not for 50 million. We need a dedicated left winger, someone like Mane for the left so we have options as Coutinho cutting in is predictable (not that people stop him anyway) so Brandt would be perfect. An out and out striker, Lacazette would do a job in the premier league, which leaves the versatile Firmino as a back up for Mane/Lacazette if we get any injuries. Finally we need another CM/CAM Isco would be perfect, but that may be a little optimistic. If we sold all our scraps plus Sturridge, Moreno and Sakho we wouldn’t even have to net spend much over 40m-50m. Just these 6 would give us enough depth as well as quality for European football.
