Liverpool sold Christian Benteke last summer and the Belgian international returned to Anfield to haunt Jurgen Klopp last weekend. The former Aston Villa man scored twice to seal victory for Crystal Palace.
The German boss also got rid of Mario Balotelli, who is playing well for French side Nice at the moment. The likes of Ings and Sturridge remain injury prone and Liverpool seriously lack quality and depth in the strike-force.
In such a scenario, the Merseysiders are looking to sign an out and out center forward this summer and a new name is in the focus in the form of Brazilian international and Gremio star Luan.
Luan is not the only Samba star linked with a move to Anfield. We recently covered a report (via Express via TuttoSport) claiming that Liverpool are interested in signing Bayern Munich star Douglas Costa.
According to an exclusive report covered by Anfield HQ, Klopp is desperate to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window and wants Luan at the club. He would cost around 30 million pounds ($39million).
The 24-year-old striker was part of the Brazilian national side at the Olympics last year and helped his team win Gold. In 6 appearances, Luan netted three times in the competition. In 2 Copa Libertadores appearances this season, the Selecao star has netted three goals.
Sadio Mane is the only pacy playmaker in the Liverpool side and in his absence, the Reds have struggled big time. Signing Luan would add another speedy star in the team and he could form a decent partnership with fellow Brazilians Coutinho and Firmino.

I believe in creating the difference in the sphere of life that I find myself. When Klopp came to Liverpool he came with a difference in footballing philosophy. He came with a breathless attacking philosophy which was to leave all opponents helppless, hopeless and defeated. He almost achieved that goal if not for constant injuries to his team which had no depth. I will only tell Klopp ‘Never quit your dream, make a solid preparation for injuries’. Assemble a team that will keep all oponents fixed in their 18 yard box and they will be busy conceding goals without remembering how to take set-piece. Get very good players on the bench. That is where games are won. At lfc we do not have a bench.
In Klopp I trust, just continued in your philosophy: bring in quality players that will make difference in the bench. LFC 4 LIFE.
Just to let you know Douglas Costa is 26 and will be 27 at the start of the season. However yes we need another pacey WINGER like Mane, not really anymore playmakers. However I would be pleased if we managed to land Costa.
I think Lacazette is a must to lead our line so Luan would be a good option to have as I’m sure at least 1 possibly 2 strikers will go this summer
