Not Ozil – Man Utd Look to Agree €40million Playmaker Signing

Last summer, Manchester United signed a top quality attacking midfielder in the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.
Manager Jose Mourinho is looking to further bolster his attacking midfield this summer. Yesterday, we covered a report (via Football.London) claiming that the former Blues boss is keen on signing Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil.
However, the German international is not the only playmaker on Man United’s wish-list. According to Telegraph, the Old Trafford club are also looking to sign Everton star Ross Barkley.
Manchester United were heavily linked with signing the Toffees star last year as well, when Louis van Gaal was in charge of the club.
Like Mkhitaryan, Barkley also has the ability to play anywhere in the attacking third and will largely improve Man United’s offense. As per the provided Telegraph link, the likes of Chelsea and Spurs are also interested in luring the 23-year-old star.
Everton boss Koeman is trying his best to secure new deals for star players like Lukaku and Barkley but it will not come as any surprise if the duo depart. The likes of Chelsea and Man United can surely pay them huge wages that Everton will not be able to match.
Moreover, they are top quality players who should be playing Champions League football and Everton do not have enough quality to qualify for the competition in the near future.
This season, in 26 league appearances, the £35million (€40million) playmaker (ES) has directly contributed in 11 goals (4 goals and 7 assists).

Silly article Ross Barkely not worth the trouble and lack the quality to be a United player. Just tabloid rumors or possibly his agent trying to negotiate a new deal with Everton.
Strootman would be a much better fit for the club !
