Not Lukaku – Man Utd Look to Sign £48million Star

Last summer, Manchester United signed a world class goalscorer in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the retired Swedish star has been sensational for the Red Devils this season.
However, Mourinho is looking to sign another striker this summer, who will serve the club for the long term.
Yesterday, we covered a report (via Daily Mail) claiming that the Old Trafford club and Chelsea are leading the race to sign Everton center forward Romelu Lukaku.
Now, French international and Monaco star Kylian Mbappe is in the limelight. According to ESPN, Manchester United have stepped up their interest in signing the teenage striker and recently monitored his performance in the Champions League game against Manchester City. He scored in both the legs vs the Citizens.
The 18-year-old player has proved to be a quality striker for the Ligue 1 side this season. He has regularly scored and created goals as Monaco sit on top of the French league table.
In the current campaign, Mbappe has featured in 31 games and directly contributed in no fewer than 27 goals (17 goals and 10 assists).
Apart from Ibrahimovic, United have the likes of Wilson and Rashford in the striking department. James has been injured for a long time and Jose has mainly used Marcus on the flank. Therefore, it makes complete sense that United should sign a quality striker and Kylian fits the bill.
Under the management of Louis van Gaal, Manchester United completed the big money signing of Anthony Martial from Monaco. They will have to splash a huge amount again to have any chance of luring Mbappe.
Earlier this month, Spanish source Don Balon claimed that the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid are also interested in the youngster, who is valued around 55 million euros (£48million) by the French club.
