Not Lacazette – Liverpool Eye £51million Star to Finally Solve Dilemma

Liverpool need major reinforcements in the summer transfer window if they are to have any chance of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Reds do have quality players but they seriously lack depth and Klopp must solve the problems sooner rather than later.
As far as the transfers are concerned, highly rated Lyon center forward Alexander Lacazette has been linked with a move to Anfield (via Mirror).
Now, according to reports in Portugal, Liverpool are eyeing another highly rated star in the form of Porto midfielder Danilo. As per A Bola, Liverpool scouts were recently present at the Estadio do Dragao to observe the 25-year-old Portuguese international.
Jurgen Klopp badly needs a proven quality defensive midfielder in his squad. The likes of Henderson and Can are just not good enough for that position.
The Merseysiders have lacked a classy DM since the departure of Mascherano. Danilo is someone who perfectly fits the bill and can finally solve the ongoing dilemma at Anfield. The former Maritimo player has been in great form for Porto this season in the holding midfield role.
He has also netted 2 goals and provided one assist in 20 league appearances for the Primeira Liga giants. Danilo has played 17 games for the senior national side and scored one goal. He was part of the squad that won the European Championships last year, made five appearances in the competition.
Back in the winter transfer window, Arsenal were heavily linked with Danilo but he eventually signed a new deal with Porto, until 2022, with a release clause of £51million (Star).
In your opinion, should Liverpool splash the cash to sign Danilo?

Desperately need a DM but not at that fee. I just wonder why Spurs have got Dembele and Wanyama and Sissoko in reserve for that position whilst we rotate Henderson (an attacking midfielder ‘doing his best’), Can (okay but not brilliant) or Lucas (utterly useless anywhere on the pitch)?
Again, looking at the Spurs squad, top keeper, two of the best full-backs in Europe, two star international CBs, a world-class striker and also Eriksen and Dele Alli in midfield. Why can’t our forward planners come up with something like that???????

Agree…..this fee seems high for a defensive midfield player. However (and I hate to admit this), at the height of UTD”s success….FERGIE used to spend big on whatever position required that investment. A quality DM along with a CF, CB, LB, GK are all required to bolster our first team and squad. Our bench against ARSENAL was weak…..it just seems ludicrous to keep players if they are never going to be good enough.

It’s so sad that our club’s recruitment board enjoy taming our annual worries: natural GK, LB, CB, DM (x2), & CF. I bet, they are horrible saddists! I really doubt if their passion for the club is true – slowly watching Man Utd catching up and eventually overtaking us on total number of silverware.
Klopp is also terribly stubborn; I remember him keeping Weidenfellar beyond five years at Borussia Dortmund FC when the man was far away past his best. Weren’t there any cheaper but talented young goalkeepers out there that could have helped him hault Bayern’s dominance, really?? Again, he does recruit talented defenders but is very poor at letting them work as a unit [e.g. Subotic, Kuba, Hummels & Socratis].

Sell Karius, Lucas, Can, Sturridge and all the other bench-warmers. Buy specialists, not lay-men. We are not a professional charitable institution or a skill-sharpening and marketing site for Spanish European glory! No!

DM CB and LB in that order, you got to give Mignolet a chance with a good defence in front of him, and reassurance that he is our #1 keeper, Klopp has to stop messing with Klavan and putting Lucas in front of him, bad man management there. Love Sturridge on his day, but he’s lost his confidence and and his pace, which I think stems from his constant injuries. Bring back Moreno if we get a DM who can cover his runs. We have a good team but it needs tweaking…
