Tottenham may have to worry if big clubs move in with big offers to lure their star players. According to reports, Man United boss Jose Mourinho seems very serious about signing Eric Dier from the North Londoners.
Earlier this month, we covered a report (via The Sun) claiming that the Red Devils are eyeing a move worth 35 million pounds to sign the versatile star this summer.
Now, the British source have provided an update with another exclusive report and state that the former Chelsea boss is ready to kick start his summer spending by hiring the services of the 23-year-old England international, who is rated over 40 million pounds ($50million).
Under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, Dier was brilliant for Spurs last season, mainly in the defensive midfield role. He was arguably England’s best player at the European Championships last year.
In the current campaign, the Argentine boss has mostly utilized Eric in the center back position and he has once again proved to be fruitful. This season, the former Sporting CP midfielder has featured in 37 games and provided 2 assists.
Such versatile defensive qualities make Dier one of the most important members in the Tottenham squad and Levy must do everything to hold on to him.
As per the provided Sun link, Mourinho wants to utilize Dier in the holding midfield position as a long term replacement of veteran star Michael Carrick. Moreover, Jose is also looking to sign Griezmann and a defender.
In your opinion, is Dier good enough to replace Carrick?
