Deal Close – Man Utd to Agree $65million Star Signing – Not Griezmann

Liverpool will not be delighted with the reports claiming that United are close to finalizing a deal with their target Ivan Perisic.

Recent claims in Italy (via TMW) suggested that the Reds are prepared to offer 35 million euros to sign the Croatian.

Manchester United are interested in strengthening their attack this summer and more than few quality attackers are linked with the Old Trafford club.

Yesterday, we covered a report (via MEN) claiming that the Red Devils are close to agreeing the signing of Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann. However, the latest indicate that the French playmaker is not the only star close to joining Man United.

Two days back, the Sun, covered an exclusive report claiming that Mourinho has moved in to agree 35 million pounds signing of Perisic for Man United.

In addition, yesterday, Sport Witness covered a report from the Croatian media claiming that Ivan Perisic’s negotiations to agree Manchester United move are at the final stage and he would cost around €40m-€50m.

However, according to reports in Italy (La Gazzetta dello Sport), the 28-year-old playmaker is rated very highly and Inter Milan do not want to sell him. However a mammoth fee can convince the Nerazzurri to cash in. The Italian source have mentioned that the fee should be around 60 million euros ($65million) or above.

The former Dortmund star can play anywhere in the attacking third and could prove to be a fruitful signing for the Red Devils. This season, in 33 appearances, Ivan has netted 9 goals and also provided 7 assists.

In all fairness, a fee of 60 million euros is way too much for a 28 -year-old star. Instead, United should splash the cash to sign Griezmann, who is currently one of the best playmakers in the world.
