Contact Already Made – Spurs Ready to Agree $42.5million Star Signing

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in signing England international Ross Barkley.
According to Telegraph, the above mentioned clubs and are closely monitoring the situation of the Everton star, whose contract will expire at the end of next season.
Spurs have been looking to sign him for quite some time. Back in the winter transfer window, the North Londoners made tentative inquiries (ES) about signing the £35million ($42.5million) attacker, who was struggling to find form under the management of Ronald Koeman.
However, things have changed now. The 23-year-old star has directly contributed in six goals in the last eight league games for the Toffees.
As per the provided Telegraph link, Spurs were leading the race to secure his signature but his recent improved form means that Pochettino will face competition from clubs who could easily meet his asking price.
Ross is a versatile talent who can be deployed anywhere in the attacking third. He mainly plays as a central attacking midfielder but has proved to effective on the flanks as well.
This season, Barkley has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in 29 appearances for the Merseysiders. He currently earns £65,000-a-week (ES) and Koeman said that the Toffees will do everything possible to keep him at Goodison Park (ESPN).
Spurs splashed heavy cash to sign Sissoko from Newcastle United last summer. However, the French international has failed to shine.
In your opinion, should Spurs sell Sissoko and replace him with Barkley?

Contract ready to be signed (as per Koeman) at the end of the season and Barkley likely to be handed Captains armband. Don’t believe everything you hear from ex Liverpool players 🙂

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese lord no this guy is just another very average midfielder player but certainly get shot of Sissoko .

  2. Tony says:

Sell Sissoko to Everton as part of the deal to get Barkley and maybe throw in Lamela as a BOGOF offer. Sissoko is not going to fit in at Tottenham and Lamela doesn’t want to play for them. So get rid of both asap

And just where have you inferred this unwantingness to play for spurs from? That’s right, your imagination.
