Manchester United broke the transfer record to sign Paul Pogba last summer. Now, reports suggest that they are once again interested in Toni Kroos. The Red Devils will surely have to splash heavy cash if they are to lure the German international.
The Old Trafford club were interested in signing the former Bayern Munich midfielder when Moyes was in charge of the club. The player even agreed to join United, however, the appointment of Louis van Gaal scuppered the deal (Express).
Now, according to the Independent, Man United are willing to finally sign Kroos next summer but the Los Blancos would not want to lose one of their prized assets.
Man Utd legend Paul Scholes recently claimed that Toni will be perfect for the club: He stated (Football 365 via Kicker)
“When I came to the end of my career, I watched him closely and tried to play like Kroos.”
“I was a rather forward-looking midfielder, but Toni is the best in the world, and Kroos would be perfect next to Pogba and Ander Herrera at United.”
The 27-year-old Kaiser is one of the most complete midfielders in the world and will largely improve Man United’s midfield. He signed a new deal with the reigning European Champions last year and earns around £346,000-a-week (BBC via AS).
This season, in 30 appearances, Kroos has scored 2 goals and provided 12 assists for Real Madrid. As per the provided Independent link, United want to sign a world class star and their priority is Griezmann, however, his signature is doubtful and that is why they are now focusing on Kroos as well.
In your opinion, should United sign Griezmann or Kroos?
