Liverpool Ready to Agree "Incredible Talent" Signing – 18 Goals/Assists

Liverpool have been brilliant in the attacking third this season and currently, they are the the joint leading goalscorers in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp has got more than a few quality attacking players in his squad but he needs more depth to challenge the best of teams next season.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Reds have the chance to sign Wolves’s star playmaker Helder Costa.
According to the Sun, the Championship side are ready to offload the 23-year-old Portuguese international and Liverpool are keen to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
The former Benfica attacker has been in brilliant form this season. In 28 starts (all competitions), Costa has directly contributed in no fewer than 18 goals (10 goals and 8 assists). He is mainly a right winger but can play as a central attacking midfielder and also as a center forward if needed.
Wolves recently completed his permanent signing and manager Paul Lambert heavily praised him by stating (Express):

“He’s worth it and I think he will be a massive asset. In time that will be buttons to what his value will be. If Helder produces what he has been producing then he’s a threat without a doubt. He’s a threat whoever he plays against.”
“The great thing about him is that he plays with a smile on his face. You never see him not smiling, on the pitch and off it and in his training. He likes a laugh and he’s one of those guys who has incredible talent and really quick feet.”

The major issue is that Wolves are 20th in the league and as per the provided Sun link, they may have to sell their prized asset, Helder’s agents are also pushing for a PL move.
Costa was influential in helping Wolves defeat Liverpool in the FA Cup. In your opinion, should Klopp splash the cash to sign him?

  1. RED PHIL says:

United due to get Griezmann for £85m and LFC supposedly looking at somebody from the bottom half of the Championship! That might tell us quite a bit about the ambitions of the two clubs, sadly!

  2. Ashley says:

Helder Costa I’m not sure if he’s the right type of player for us, Sure he’s got pace and plenty of it but yes here comes my but what I’ve seen of him I’m always raving about you can’t coach Pace but I’m not sure he’s consistent enough and worried playing at a higher level if teams stop his Pace he has nothing left.
Wolves Spent a lot on him being a championship team of £15M so I expect it depends if they survive and remain in the championship and if they do they will ask for what £20M- £25M for the player maybe less if they get relegated
But in the end it still remains the same Is he Good enough to make us a Stronger Team or could you use that money better for someone else from Europe !!!
Let me know your thoughts guys as I feel Klopp will need to be and am sure he will be very busy in the summer with New Recruits coming into Liverpool while letting a few guys go such as Sturridge and Mignolet for starters.
