Manchester United were heavily linked with Griezmann last month and the stories have gathered even more pace after the closure of the winter transfer window.
According to the latest reports, the £60million move for Antoine is even closer as the French international wants to be the new David Beckham at Old Trafford (The Sun).
The Red Devils have reportedly agreed personal terms (Mirror) with the 25-year-old attacker and therefore, it will not come as any surprise if he ends up moving to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Griezmann’s image adviser has recently claimed:
“When I read articles about a hypothetical transfer to Manchester United I think it would be the ideal commercial scenario.
“He would play at David Beckham’s former club, which is his idol, with the same legendary number (7) on his back.”
The Les Bleus star mainly plays as a secondary striker but he can effectively be deployed anywhere in the attacking third.
This season, he has netted 15 goals and provided 8 assists in 31 appearances for Diego Simeone’s team. He is one of the biggest stars in the continent and will largely improve the quality of Man United’s attack.
It will be intriguing to see how Mourinho will utilize him in the starting XI with the likes of Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic.
