Agreement Reached – Man Utd Poised to Seal €45million Star Signing

Manchester United have been looking to sign Benfica right back Nelson Semedo in the winter transfer window but the latest reports suggest that the Portuguese international will not be joining this month.
However, the Red Devils have reached an agreement with Benfica, which will see the 23-year-old defender arrive at Old Trafford in the summer.
According to London Evening Standard‘s Goncalo Lopes (Portuguese journalist):

Manchester United are poised to sign Nelson Semedo after coming to an agreement with Benfica

Solid at the back and productive in the attacking third, Semedo will be a brilliant long term replacement for Antonio Valencia.
This season, the Portuguese international has featured in 31 games for the Primeira Liga side, scored 2 goals and also provided 7 assists. He has played only one game for the senior national side, back in October 2015.
Semedo has a release clause of €45million in his contract (SW via O Jogo), however, as per Lopes, United will probably be luring him for a fee of 27 million pounds (€31million). He stated:

United wanted the right-back to join them this month but after Benfica rejected that approach they proposed a summer deal worth £27million

Semedo can also be deployed on the left hand side of the defense and Mourinho would love such a versatile player. Not to forget, Chelsea have been interested in signing him as well (via A Bola).
