Key Star Sick – Man Utd XI Formation vs Middlesbrough

Manchester United face Middlesbrough today and are looking to win their 5th game on the trot in the Premier League.

Surprisingly, manager Jose Mourinho has made more than a few changes in the starting XI that played against Sunderland.

Lately, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have formed a solid central defensive partnership for the Red Devils. However, the duo are on the bench. Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly start in the central defense today.

Veteran midfieler Michael Carrick has been a key star for Mourinho this season but he misses out today through illness as confirmed by Manchester United (twitter).

Belgian international Marouane Fellaini has replaced Carrick and will partner Herrera in the central midfield.

Summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to the starting XI in place of Jesse Lingard. Anthony Martial replaces Juan Mata in the attack behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Here is Man Utd’s confirmed XI formation vs Middlesbrough.
