Not Griezmann – Jose Eager to Agree Gimenez Signing for Man United

Matuidi Griezmann FranceManchester United (and Tottenham) had the best defense in the Premier League last season under the management of Louis van Gaal.
In came Jose Mourinho and splashed heavy cash to further reinforce the department by signing Eric Bailly. However, the Ivorian international is now injured and United have been shaky at the back, especially in the last month.
According to the reports (Mirror), the Red Devils’ boss is eager to sign a new top quality defender and wants Man United to back him with a 50 million pounds move for Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez. He is Mourinho’s number one transfer target now.
Not to forget, Manchester United are also linked with Gimenez’s team mate Antoine Griezmann (Mirror).

As per the provided Mirror link, Jose has a release clause of 56 million pounds ($69million) in his contract but Atletico want to hold on to the youngster.
Up till now, Mourinho’s big name summer signings have failed to shine. Should United back Jose to splash another huge sum to lure Gimenez?

The money that has to be spend these days is moot. If you spend nothing, you get nothing. If you spend something you get something. Not rocket science. If you want quality then you have to pay for it. The problem with the team at the present time is that it is filled with mediocre players who are not up to standard. We need to get rid and virtually start again. These are the players that need to be moved on: Rojo, Smalling, Fellaini, Rooney, Young, Memphis, Schneiderlin, Sweinsteiger (only because Mourinho won’t play him), Carrick (age). I’m not saying that I do not like these players, what I am saying is they have very little to offer the club moving forward. We should be building the team around Pogba, Tuenzebe, Rashford, Fosu Mensah, Gomes, and De Gea. This cannot be fixed in one transfer window, it will take time. Mourhino is not to blame for the inefficiencies of the previous managers. he just has to get the best he can out of limited resources. Heads up lads it’s early yet………
