Liverpool have been brilliant and it will be fair to say that Coutinho has been their best player this season.
The Brazilian international suffered a major injury last weekend that will keep him out for five to six weeks. This means that the former Inter star is expected to return in January. Not to forget, star playmaker Sadio Mane has to leave for international duty in January.
Therefore, Klopp is seriously looking to reinforce his attacking midfield in the winter window and once again Dortmund attacker Christian Pulisic is in the limelight.
The Reds made an offer to sign the American international last summer but the move did not happen (via Mail). Earlier this month, we reported (via Mail) that the Reds are looking to move again in winter to sign the 18-year-old starlet.
Now that Coutinho is out injured, Daily Mail are reporting that Liverpool are ready to step up their chase to finally sign the £25million ($31million) rated Pulisic.
This season, in 14 appearances in all competitions (10 starts), the teenager has directly contributed in no fewer than 8 goals (2 goals and 6 assists).
German legend Jurgen Klinsmann recently praised the youngster and claimed that he is a “very, very special talent” (ESPN).
Dortmund have an overcrowded attacking midfield with players like Reus, Gotze, Schurrle, Mor, Dembele and Kagawa around. Hence, playing regular football will be difficult for Pulisic.
Christian can play anywhere in the attacking third and Klopp must do all to bring him to Anfield.
