After finishing third in the Barclays Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League, Spurs must bring in proven quality players to challenge the best of teams next season.
One such star currently linked with a move to White Hart Lane is German international and Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze. If reports are anything to go by then Pochettino’s side are now in contention to sign the former Dortmund star.
According to reports (Independent via Bild), Spurs have moved in and held initial talks with Gotze’s representatives over a potential deal.
The 24-year-old World Cup winner had an injury hit campaign last season. He featured in 21 games, scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists for the Bundesliga champions. On the other hand, Gotze failed to shine for the national side at the European Championships as well.
As per the provided Independent link, Bayern are looking to get around 20 million pounds ($26 million) for Gotze who will be out of contract next summer. Mario is a quality player and has the ability to play anywhere in the attacking third.

Wasted of money. Spend it on Yarmolenko instead. He’s a beast and could play in any 4 of our forward positions. He’s big, hungry, skillful and technical. He holds the gal up well and loves to run at the opposition. I rely don’t understand why we haven’t moved for this guys as he’s a perfect fit for us.. Guarantee we won’t and Arsenal or Liverpool will snap him up and he’ll be a huge success.. Come on Poch!

For 20-25 million euros it’s a no brainer. This kid is better then lamela, betelab, carol, Pritchard, and mason.

You must know that Levy will employ his usual tactics of under bidding, long deferred payments, taking too long and looking for anything else he can do just to further delay a firm bid and all these things are for one reason…to get out of the bid. But he does look good to Poch but in time Poch will learn there’s no desire to spend real money by the dynamic duo Levy and Lewis. They only spend money they have made selling our best players. If you don’t believe me just look back and see how many players Levy has let slip through his hands and then look at how much money he has spent as opposed to how much money he has raked in.
Bless you for being a bit spasticated. Levy and co have already spent 11 million on Wanyama. Janssen is incoming for 17 million. There is clearly money being made available. Levy trusts Poch. That’s the difference from past times. That and the fact that ever Premier League club has SHITLOADS of extra money to burn thanks to the additional TV money this year. If you’re attractive on top of that – which Spurs now are – big transfers are a real possibility. If we want Goetze, there’s every chance we’ll get him.
Yes, As mentioned in a previous email this is a’no brainier.’ Gotze hasn’t shown his true ability at club and national level this last season but he will flourish again. At today’s prices 20 million is a steal.

If it takes as long to do deal as it has Jansen we will be at the end of 2018 season never known a club to piss about so much on transfers.
We are in the process of building a team to compete in Europe surely we must have some idea of conducting transfers,People of the quality of Goetze do not come our way very often and Jansen proven he can score for club and country come on Mr Levy get these deals done before it is too late.
