Mkhitaryan ShakhtarManchester United could only score 49 league goals under the management of Louis van Gaal last season and they have only signed one playmaker in the form of Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Borussia Dortmund) to reinforce the attacking midfield this summer.
The Red Devils suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Dortmund in their opening game of the International Champions Cup. From the performance, it is evident that United need to further improve their defense and the attack.
As far as the transfer rumors are concerned, United are linked with a move to sign highly rated Brazilian youngster Gabriel Jesus. The 19-year-old attacker currently plays for Brazilian club Palmeiras.
According to reports (Express via Estado) United are ready to move in and offer 29 million pounds ($38 million), 5 million pounds more than the release clause, to hire the services of the talented teenager.
Jesus is naturally a left winger but Palmeiras has mainly utilized him as a center forward. Last season, the starlet featured in 19 games for the club and directly contributed in 18 goals (15 goals and 3 assists).
