Mourinho Clear to Finally Seal €76million Deal for Man United

Jose Mourinho ChelseaIf reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are now free to finally re-sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid are out of the race to sign Pogba and now Jose Mourinho is clear to seal the signing of the highly rated Les Bleus star.
Since leaving the Red Devils, the 23-year-old midfielder has featured in 178 games for the Old Lady and won eight major titles.
Last season, Pogba featured in 49 games for the Serie A champions and directly contributed in no fewer than 26 goals (10 goals and 16 assists).
As per the provided Sky link, the Los Blancos’ president has accepted that the club cannot compete with United financially and the British giants could pay a fee of around 123 million Euros to hire the services of Pogba. Moreover, United are expected to seal a huge five-year deal with the player that will make him earn over 76 million Euros.
In your opinion, should United break the transfer record and sign the French international?

  1. Alfred Komakech says:

I think, it’s NOT realistic enough to spend that much money in only one player. Why not to scout another best midfilder? than “Pogba”.

    • Paul Payne says:

I also think that Timothy F-M…..Is going to be a big player for us and could very well be as good as PP in a year or so……..do you remember what happened after he got injured and was substituted in the Spurs game……he was the best player on the pitch…….we then lost 3 goals in quick succession…..

    • Momanyi says:

you are right ,i think pogba is somehow overated

    • Stu says:

Too much money you all say. Well, if the money isn’t spent on players it just goes in the owners pockets. It’s not like they will give us free tickets if the bought a player for £30 mil and saved the other £70. I say, if you can afford it, then buy the best whatever. Having money is pointless if you don’t use it. If United were after 5 more players then that’s a different story, but they just want 1 player and have £140 mil spare cash left.

  2. Walter Kelt says:

That money can buy Griezman, Payet and Kante together. It’s too much.

    • Andrew Haldane says:

I agree its far too much for Pogba but those players would cost nearer £130m, probably more.

  3. Mudassir says:

The amount is very huge for a single player considering his performance at just concluded Euro tournament. Pogba is a good player but the amount to fund this transfer is our worrisome. By considering the one done by Louis Vang gal for Di-maria. Amount can fund at least 2 or 3 stars like James Rodgriuge, Dybala, and Blaise Matuidi.

  4. Darriet says:

that money is too much just for a single player, he is good indeed bt that amount can bring in about 2 or 3 players who are so good in mid field, see players like Blaise Matudi, Kante & many other, i think United should not waste that huge money on only one player.

  5. Shano says:

There are better midfielders than Pogba, he was just average in Euro

  6. maxitarr says:

I suggest we move for matuidi or kante or even both if utd re willing to splash out that cash on one player its too much…i knw he is good but that amount is too much plsss…we can get kante or matuidi or both of them and sell sone players and loan sone out

  7. Martin Aniehe says:

My opinion is that manchester united should not sign pogba. because his style of play doesn’t suit united style of play. secondly, he’s too pompous and that alone is his major problem. infact, is not he’s not the type of player/midfielder manchester united needs. Even if the club wants to sign him, not with 106 million pounds. is a waste of money for a player/midfielder like pogba. No wonder FC Barcelona and real Madrid gave up on him in the chase to get his signature. The club should rather use that to sign other good qualities players like, Vegas, Marco verratti, etc. I mean they’re other quality midfielder mutd can go and make the club more competitive. Please my lovely mutd should spend Their money wisely and not lavish it on players like pogba. Thanks.

  8. Oliver Jah says:

Too much money for a single player. United secured the signatures of 3 good players this season without such amount, why not take the same rout.

  9. Andrew Haldane says:

He is good, and COULD get better under Jose, but he is vastly overpriced! I’d take (a motivated) Di Maria or Ozil and Kanté over Pogba in a heart beat…in fact we could afford 3 or more world class players for that kind of money (although there is no guarentee they’d come without ECL football or that Jose would want them ?)
I think this is as much about making a statement about the club’s ambition and financial power as it is about the quality of the player. Its a risk imho, but I’m just a fan.

  10. Johnny says:

Pogba his very good player the money is much but if the club can pay what’s our problems is not our family money and again team like real madrid or man city can pay so how much more united please you guy’s should stand up……Manchester 4life mourinho will love you

  11. Alhassan Dumbuya says:

The money can buy two more classic players, an additional right back and a defensive Midfielder

  12. Agbor Millan says:

A single player costs over 120 million euros???? .. that’s so extreme…he is too costly. I propose Man Utd rethink that “crazy” decision they are about make.. waste of real cash for just one player who alone can’t fully guarantee a trophy nor title..Don’t get me wrong, Pogba is indeed a great talent but he is over priced.

  13. Candido O says:

From what I saw at euro2016. Pogba shouldn’t be priced more than €60m. Any amount more than that is a monumental waste.

  14. Andrew Haldane says:

He’s certainly powerful and athletic and has a fair turn of speed but I don’t see Pogba dominating midfield in the Premiership week in, week out at his age. I hope Jose keeps Schweini for at least a season; Pogba would learn so much from him, assuming he does sign.
Jose has said he wants to work with a smaller squad of 22 so perhaps we will see a clear out of senior squad players in yhe coming weeks? I hope he doesn’t go to mad though! Its good to have cover in every position and a couple of versatile players in your squad to cover. With 4 competitions and World Cup qualifiers its going to be a long, hard season; despite his obvious limitations in certain areas, Blind is a great reader of the game and can make an important interception, spot and execute a defence splitting pass in the blink of an eye; he can cover 3 positions well enough to justify a place in the squad.
I’m also hoping that Memphis gets a chance to show how could he can be; he and Shaw struck up the beginnings of a very promising looking partnership on the left before Luke’s injury.
Now we have the firepower up front I’d get in someone like Matuidi or Kanté and ship out Fellaini, who is too slow, inconsistent and volatile. Young and Valencia are also too highly paid to justify their overall contributions and should be sold, which would also allow more chances for Memphis and Lingard.
Im defence Rojo has to go and I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones is moved on either given his litany of injuries and relatively high wages. I have a feeling that Jose will bring in another experienced centre back as cover whilst Bailly adjusts to the EPL but McNair and Fosu-Mensah deserve a chance to prove their worth Imho.
I’m afraid that Romero isn’t a reliable replacement for de Gea should he pick up an injury….he certainly isn’t going to push him for a starting place….Rui Patrício has only just signed a new contract with Sporting club de Portugal (Lisbon) but will be in demand following his displays for the newly crowned European Champions. United could do a hell of a lot worse!

  15. Hassan Conteh says:

I just have the feeling that Timothy FM has all what it takes to make him a productive holding mid fielder in the shortest possible time. He has prove it in all the games hehas played so far so let put the trust on him and look to another holding mid fielder like Kante instaed of expensive Pogba .Yes he is good but really overpriced and overated,

  16. Adeniyi Tayo says:

It will be a shame for mautd to buy pogba for even 40 million, he is an average player over hype by press, we have henrik, rooney, mata, herera in the attacking midfield, I don’t think United need him
We can go for kante, dybala, onazi of napoli he is a good defending mid- fielder,
In other way morinho can build schniderlin to a better defensive mild field

  17. Gareth McNeill says:

    Just a few points.
    1. Most of the other comments here suggest that the writer has only watched Pogba in the Euros and are saying he’s overpriced on his performances, and while that is true, you must remember that he plays with those teammates every 6-8 weeks, a lot of that squad inc Payet, Kante, Martial & Coman are new to international football. Watch his performances for Juve were he’s in a settled team twice a week to get a true reflection of his talents and consistency. I’m not suggesting he’s worth the £100m even then but it give you a more rounded & accurate assessment.
    2. The club won’t look at the deal as a one off deal. It’s risk v reward. There is virtually no risk. If he leaves after 4 years you’ll prob recoup most of the outlay, if not all of it. If he leaves for free in 8 years it’s cost United approx £10.5m a year, less than United would make on Pogba shirt sales in that time period. It’s no risk from the clubs point of view. And all that still holds even if the team aren’t successful on the field. If they are successful the up-side for the club is so much better. And really as a fan should we be concerned about the money, if we know the club can afford it?
    3. Pogba is a player who even at 21 was able to control the tempo of a match. Something we have lacked since the retirement of Paul Scholes. I believe that Pogba is the man we should be building the team around. That would mean having a holding/defensive midfielder who will allow Pogba the freedom to play to his full ability. However we currently don’t have that type of player. Given time Tim Fosu-Mensah wil be that player & of course Carrick, Sweini, & Schneiderlin can all do a job there in the meantime but they aren’t naturals in the way Makelele was.

  18. K Ray says:

Massively overrated!! Would not pay more than 30 mill. for him…… £100 mil buys 3 if not 4 quality players, throwing money away to be honest””

  19. Gregg Kisyombe says:

Maybe Jose thinks Pogba is good but remember that it is PL we are talking about. It’s simple to buy expensive players from PL to other leagues becz they are not very much competitive. I don’t think other leagues can produce a player more than 75 euros. I don’t like the way Pogba plays, slow sometimes.

  20. Eagle says:

I think he is worth the money. Think of it this way, if we dont sign him and we miss out on champions league again, thats so much money we dont get. Another midfielder might not be good enough (although I conceed that there is a chance we still dont make champions league with him, but that chance is smaller)…. and not just that, less likely to get sponsors etc. Also, signing him would lift merchendise sales a lot. You have to spend money to make money.
