Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already signed two players to reinforce his defense in the summer transfer window. The German boss secured the signings of central defender Joel Matip from Schalke and goalie Loris Karius joined the Reds from Mainz.
Now, the former Borussia Dortmund manager is looking to further strengthen his back line by signing a full-back and a certain Swiss international is in the limelight.
According to reports in the Italian media (Gazzetta World via GazzaMercato), Jurgen Klopp is ready to meet Udinese’s asking price of 8 million euros ($9 million) to seal the signing of their versatile player Silvan Widmer.
The 23-year-old defender is mainly a right back but he has also played in the left back position. Moreover, he can effectively be deployed on either side of the midfield as well.
Last season, the former FC Aarau defender featured in 27 league games for the Serie A side and provided 3 assists.
In your opinion, should Liverpool sign Silvan Widmer?
