So far, Liverpool have reinforced their defense by luring the likes of Joel Matip (Schalke) and Loris Karis (Mainz) from the German Bundesliga this summer.
The Reds still need a top quality left back to replace the current first choice defender Alberto Moreno in the starting XI.
A certain German international in the form Jonas Hector has been in the limelight for quite some time. Daily Star cite reports in the German media claiming that Liverpool can finally sign the 26-year-old wing back for a fee of 17 million pounds ($22.6million).
Hector featured in 34 games (all competitions) for the Bundesliga side last season and set up four goals.
Jonas played in every game for the national side at the European Championships. In the quarter final tie against Italy, he brilliantly set up Mesut Ozil for Germany’s opening goal and also netted the decisive penalty kick in the shootout to win the game.
Hector is solid at the back and also productive in the attacking third. Klopp should not waste more time and must bring him to Anfield as soon as possible.
