Liverpool secured the signing of young Serbian Marko Grujic last winter and the midfielder will be ready to play for the Reds next season.
Jurgen Klopp is still looking to further add quality and depth in the midfield and wants to sign Leicester City star N’Golo Kante to strengthen the department.
According to reports (Mirror via Star), the German boss is keen on hiring the services of the $31 million rated French international who is also wanted by other top Premier League clubs.
Since the departure of Argentine star Javier Macherano from Anfield, Liverpool have lacked a world class defensive midfielder in the side and the 25-year-old Les Bleus DM can finally solve that dilemma.
Emre Can has proved to be the midfield general for the Reds under the management of Klopp. If Kante does join the Anfield club, expect him to line up with the German international in the center of the park. Captain Henderson will most likely start on the bench.

Oh, this could make me a happy bunny! We are screaming for a specialist defensive midfielder and this guy is good! If it comes about, and I’ll believe it when I see it, it will mean we are beginning to make inroads into the gap between us and the 7 teams above us. I’ve been banging on about the need for somebody who specialises in this position for weeks so this would truly make my day. Nobody could ever beat Souness, in my opinion, but Alonso was the best since Souness and was the last good one we had. Prior to that Steve McMahon was good but, apart from those three we’ve struggled in that position with Lucas, Allen and current crop not filling the void adequately for my money. Let’s hope we get him, he’d do well at Anfield, but the lack of CL footie might mean he’ll go elsewhere . . .
