Liverpool have Moved in to Sign "Extraordinary Quality" Star – $28m Offer Made

Jurgen Klopp DortmundThe Reds have been linked with a move to sign German international and Bayern Munich attacker Mario Gotze for quite some time.
If reports are anything to go by then Liverpool have moved in to sign “extraordinary quality” (Goal) from the Bundesliga giants.
According to reports in the German media (RP Online), Liverpool have made an offer of $28 million to hire the services of the versatile playmaker in the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old World Cup winner has spent most part of the season on the treatment table but his ability is undeniable.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows all about the qualities of Mario Gotze having managed the attacker at Borussia Dortmund. The Kaiser has scored a brilliant brace today against Hannover.
As per the provided RP Online link, Gotze’s value may rise if he performs well in the European Championships with the national side.
Mario is a proven quality star who can play anywhere in the attack and Liverpool must do whatever possible to sign him.

Gotze is quality of the top order and would be a superb addition but I have a niggling feeling he’ll head to the bright lights of London, if he moves anywhere.
What we need to do is ask ourselves if he is the defensive midfielder – another Souness or Alonso – that we desperately need and my answer to that is NO!
I’d love us to get him but we aren’t too badly off for central midfielders with Coutinho maturing nicely, Can getting better with every game and Firmino also looking the part and with Grujic (Is that spelt correctly?) signed and this Polish guy whose name I can’t pronounce, let alone spell, supposedly signing on Wednesday we need to know what sort of roles those new guys play in before we start getting excited about fitting Gotze in as well.
Do these two new lads play defensive midfield? If not we might have a glut of attacking midfielders but nobody to control things and protect the defence, ala Souness or Alonso.
We don’t need eight attacking midfielders, when you add Henderson, Milner and Lallana to the mix.
Mind you, an attack consisting of Coutinho, Firmino and Gotze playing just behind a new, top-notch striker – and with Can and Lallana in there as well – does get the blood pumping that bit faster, does it not? I’m smiling at the prospect of that . . .
Other main priorities MUST be a new keeper and another new centre back!
