4-2-3-1: Manchester United’s Probable XI vs Middlesbrough

Louis Van GaalManchester United drew 0-0 against their rivals and neighbors Manchester City in the last Premier League game and will be focusing on the Capital One Cup now.

The Red Devils will face Middlesbrough in the midweek game and should be confident of qualifying for the next round.

As far as the team news is concerned, expect Spanish goalie David de Gea to be replaced by Argentine star Sergio Romero in the starting XI.

Antonio Valencia suffered an injury against Man City and in his absence Mateo Darmian should return to the starting lineup vs Boro.

Daley Blind will probably get the nod to start in the central defense with Smalling in place of Phil Jones. Vice captain, Michael Carrick may return to partner Schneiderlin in the central midfield.

As far as the attack is concerned, the likes of Depay, Fellaini and Lingard may start behind captain Wayne Rooney and Martial might start the game on the bench.
