Italian source CalcioMercato has revealed that the Red Devils tried to sign Brazilian star Felipe Anderson in the final days of the transfer window and offered $45.2 million to hire his services. However the mentioned bid was rejected.
The 22-year-old Samba star was brilliant for Lazio last season and helped them qualify for the Champions League. Unfortunately, the Serie A side failed to qualify for the CL group stages and lost out in the play-off round to German side Bayer Leverkusen.
The left winger featured in 37 games for Lazio in the last campaign and directly contributed in no fewer than 21 goals (11 goals and 10 assists).
Manchester United still need more firepower in their attacking setup and must look to lure a top quality playmaker in the winter transfer window.
